At odd times my S3 seemed to be taking far to long to charge sometimes hanging on 99%,So i did a factory reset and it still seemed slow to charge,Last thing i did was to wipe the partition cache,I put the phone on charge when it was at 38% and its taken 3 hours and 50 minutes to charge to 100% does that sound about right?
This is charging from the mains with the charger that came with the S3.
Thanks.

That would equate to a charge time of about 4.5 hours. Is that from empty (or nearly empty) or is there some charge in it? Also, is it with the phone switch on or off? I find that charging times vary for sometimes no obvious reason, but that time for a first, almost full, charge might not be too bad.
Acrtually, what's the wattage of the charger you were given? If it's less than 1 amp, that might explain it. In practice, as long as you use a decent quality charger, you can use any make with any phone. I'm not sure about the S3, but some of my more recent devices even have 2 amp chargers. The device will draw what it needs if the feed is greater than it wants, normally.
Edited to add: Reply to Laura's message as this is going to be your best option for getting the right charger. I hope that's what the team have in mind!

From 41% its charging 2% every 5 minutes From 80% its charging 2% every 5minutes from 92% its charging 2% every 5minutes. With just the app that come with the phone. And that happens all the time since tuesday.
No point in getting in contact with vodafone again about the charger they have non in stock and telling me i cant have my own charger that i had just paid for back as its got nothing to do with them,Then i got told i shouldn't of sent my charger of quite right the charger shouldn't of been sent off,But the repair side did not look at the phone first go so me and the staff at vodafone said it would be best sending the charger.Third time well i never even took the phone home. So Vodafone CS has told me its my fault why i have not got my charger.
How do i know Vodafone wont get my charger back because ive talked with them on the online help,But before that i had phoned up 192 and they said they would send me out a charger,Yep they sent me out a charger but it wasn't for the s3 looks like a charger for a real old Samsung.
Laura im afraid ive lost faith in the we can sort this out for you,Because clearly you cant unless i buy a charger from another website then get the money refund from that,All i want is my charger back from the repair company its mine to have back.

The normal instruction is to send the phone only, with no SIM, memory card or charger. If this wasn't explained, that would seem to be an omission.
I really would recommend responding to Laura's message. It does look as though the team are trying to help you, but they'll need to access your details and that's what this is all about. If they don't you a replacement charger after that, you can come back here and tell the world about it. However, they can't help you unless you talk to them. at least give them the chance!

For god sake forget about if i should of sent the charger or not,The repair side DID NOT carry out any work on the phone and kept on saying there was no fault,So what needed to be done was the charger to be sent with the phone so they could connect the phone to the charger then they would of seen it was not charging. Also its not my problem at all the charger got sent to the repair team because it was the staff who sent it not me,But im trying to get this across as easy as i can without sending the charger it would of come back with no fault,Which it did two times,The last time it got sent off i had no control on what was sent.
I have allready been in contact with vodafone today and asked for a manager to phone me on my home phone Yes we can do that i made sure in telling them why they cant phone me on my mobile Guess what they phoned my mobile left a message and said we will not be phoning you again if you want to get in contact i will have to phone them. This happens every time wheneve i say dont phone my mobile and give them my home number they never ever ring my home number.
Ive allready spoke to someone for over a hour and a half today and was getting nowhere thats why i wanted a manager to phone me at my home number, hrym you are saying it looks like the team are trying to help me,You have no idea what ive been through to get this dam phone working.
On here it might be all nice like we are here to help but as soon as you speak to anyone well thats a different matter. I want my charger back because i had to send it to them so they could see for themselves it was not charging.
I cant belive people think its acceptable for the repair team to have the phone for less than one day and say its fine and say it was due to the software need updating then the second time they said no fault could be tested and did another software update,It was only because the person in the vodafone shop had wrote down saying they had seen it not charging that the phone had been replaced.
You say thats the normal instruction not to send the charger correct which was done the first time,But they failed to test the phone with a charger plugged into the phone so this is why it was sent with the phone.
You say it would be best to get in contact with vodafone and what do you suggest i say to them because i have allready explained everything today before i saw Laura's message,There is nothing more that can be said im told vodafone have no chargers in stock i have to get one myself im not doing that. Im told its not their problem that my charger did not get sent back,Well its not me who sent off the phone it was vodafone,If it was me who sent off the phone then i could see that its my problem to sort out.
When i send my car in for work to be done i dont expect things to be missing or saying they couldn't find a problem which of course they wouldn't do.
On the booking form the customer gets when you send of the phone for repair it tells you if you have a loan phone from them when you return it if its missing anything like the charger then the customer has to pay £10
So what about the other way round vodafone has lost my charger but so far im being told its my fault the charger was sent and lost,No its not my fault at all vodafone can keep saying this all they want but i handed my phone and charger over to the staff the second time it went for repair they didn't have to accept my charger,The third time i didn't even get to hold my phone because the staff saw straight away it wasn't charging. In the whole procees of sending my phone and charger did they say we cant or shouldn't put the charger with the phone.
In my job if i have to send something off and something shouldn't be sent with the item then i wouldn't send it,I wouldn't blame the customer for giving it to me as they dont know the rules,If they give something to me either i keep it locked away but not send it off or i give it back to the customer.
I have found when you are talking to vodafone on the phone they tell you all sorts of things one person will tell you one thing another person will tell you another thing,One person today told me the chargers are only £3 another person told me to get a cheap one of ebay,Really this is what vodafone want their customers to do buy a cheap charger from ebay who is to say you are getting the oem charger.
I wish i had sent of the phone myself because then i would be moaning at myself saying i shouldn't of sent the charger then i wouldn't have to keep on phoning up vodafone,But as it goes vodafone sent my phone of so i had no control over what got sent.

Did you reply to Laura's message? You do need to do that if you want the team to help you, and it does appear that they're trying to.

Can you tell me why i would need to reply to the message,When nothing other can be done unless by replying to the message will get me my own charger back which ive been told many times its got nothing to do with them.
Unless Lauura is going to be sorting this all out for me herself.
Last night i got a phone call again on my mobile which was not agreed then the so called manager said we dont deal with chargers tough and he put the phone down.
All i wanted was some answers to why i had been treated this why when im a long term vodafone customer,But no they treat me by having someone you cant understand on the phone then putting the phone down on me.

I'm just guessing here, but I think the team are actually trying to help you. I know, hard to believe, isn't it? The PM you've been sent will allow them to access your details and that opens up the mind-boggling possibility that they might actually send you a charger. It won't be your own charger but, unless you were particularly attached to it and had given it a name, I doubt you're bothered about that. I would expect it to be a compatible Samsung one, though.
You do want a solution to this issue, don't you? Otherwise I'm just wasting my time and the team are wasting theirs.
