Great news, we've updated our NUC policy!

The website has been updated to say ‘Good news - many of our devices, including all Apple products, are already unlocked. Just insert a SIM from another network and you should be ready to go’.

But what exactly does this mean:

  • Pay monthly, Pay as you go, VOXI and Small Business customers can now request an NUC using the online form here.
  • We can only unlock Vodafone UK devices - if a device is locked to another network, you'll still need to contact them.
  • When submitting an NUC request, you'll receive a validation email, you must confirm your email address before the request can be processed.
  • If the NUC request has been rejected, you'll receive an email explaining the reasons and what the next steps are - the NUC team cannot assist with rejection requests.
  • You can only receive an NUC if the device was bought from Vodafone
  • The NUC can only be used on the device for which we've received the request

Useful Information

  • If you have difficulties accessing the online form, one of our agents can complete the form on your behalf (you must try first though).
  • There's no charge for an NUC
  • We can't supply an NUC for the following manufacturers:
    • Asus
    • BenQ-Siemens
    • Dell
    • HP
    • Palm
    • Qtek
    • Sharp
    • Sonim
    • Toshiba
    • VK
  • Android - customers should receive an email with the NUC to use.
  • Apple - customers will receive confirmation that their device has been unlocked. (There is no NUC code for Apple devices).
  • If we need to contact the manufacturer, the request can take up to 10 working days - we'll keep you informed during this time.
  • An NUC is case sensitive and must be entered exactly as it was received
  • Apple devices are unlocked over the air OTA - this means instead of a code, you'll simply need to switch off your device and insert the new SIM card then switch it on with the new SIM, which will trigger the unlock.
  • Apple devices can be unlocked anywhere as it's done via OTA. All other devices need to be on the UK network, for the NUC to work.
  • Search for NUC in vodafone.co.uk for more support - or check the website here.
  • All Apple devices that have been active on the network since February 2020 are unlocked, and all new Apple devices are being sold unlocked
