Smart Ultra 6-Notification Reminders

I would like to be reminded of missed SMS (using Messenger currently) and Whatsapp messages.

I have tried several apps none of which I can get to work.

A few I have tried...

Missed Message Flasher: Reminds once then gives up

Smart Notify: Reminders works, but app keeps reminding even after message viewed

(Have tried using it as default app in place of Messenger, but same problem)

Missed Call reminder: no reminder issued.

If anyone has a reliable notification reminder system that gives periodic sound and vib reminders for unread Whatsapp and SMS messages on Smart Ultra 6 (Android 5.1) could they please let me know !!!!!

I installed Nova Launcher. I then added the TeslaUnread plugin for Nova. It all works well.
