Hi
I've two of these Smart Ultra 6 phones (personal and company work phones), both have been updated to the latest firmware.
My problem, both phones over this last month have been tempermental at times in that sometimes when I've unlocked it, the dropdown menu starts to come down and jutters up and down, same happens at times within programs like FB etc.
One the phones, I did a factory reset about a month ago and this is still happening, only more often now. I did have screen protectors on both, but removed one less than a week ago, incase that was causing it, but still happening.
BTW I haven't dropped either of the phones and one of these phones is about 6 months older than the other (Nov 2015 and March 2016).
Is anyone else having these issues and if not, how do I go about getting these resolved by Vodafone ?
Cheers
Colum

Hi,
Usually a factory reset helps to clear out redundant files after a firmware if glitches are happening.
Also on some phones you can clear the system cache which may help.
Hows the remaining memory in the phones because if they are filling up this can cause lag. Reduce by deleting apps, photos , songs etc.
The phone has 2Gb of Ram which should be enough. Are you able to check how much ram is being used and do you close down apps that are dormant after use.
If this is still happening after doing what you can then if Vodafone directly supplied them then you could pop it into a Vodafone store for the employee to look over and they may send them off to the repair centre under the 2 year manufacturing warranty.
Make backups as they'll typically firmware flash them and take time and date stamped pictured to prove their aesthetic condition and ask the employee to note their condition.
"Also make sure when sending your device for repair that you keep hold of your SIM. You also shouldn't send your memory cards, battery and/or back cover (if they're removable) - if these are included with your phone when it goes for repair we can't guarantee their return."

I do regularly close down applications after I've finished using them.
currently 660MB free and thats with me currently using PowerAmp Pro, so loads of memory free.
Both phones are no longer on Vodafone network, as my company moved to O2 shortly after I got it, so its unlocked via an ebay code and since I liked the phone so much, I got another for my personal a few month later and unlocked it also (Tesco).
This shouldn't cause me any issues as no modified firmware, should it ?

Hi,
In my past experiences if a person does not use the Network it was locked to to unlock it ,and venture elsewhere to have it unlocked by a 3rd party then that can cause various issues.
The phones will have Vodafone U.K. branded firmware on them I assume, as they were provided directly by Vodafone ?
Where are your software updates coming from to keep them up to date ?
"660mb free" is that RAM or internal "memory" ?
Sometimes an app can cause clashes with a phone so a good process of elimination is to remove the most recent app(s) to see if the issue stops.
Also performing a Factory Reset and then not using a Back up to replace your information, but instead setting it up as a new device first to see if the issues stop which would possibly point towards an issue with the Backup.

Hi,
In my humble opinion free Ram is wasted Ram, so yes looks ok as the phone has 2Gb as I'm sure your aware of.
Plenty of internal storage memory left ?
Updates keep the phone up to date with security patches and the firmware up to date keeping the phone working at optimal efficiency, which again I'm sure your aware of.
Have you ruled out rogue app(s) or Backup.
Nothing else happened ?
It could then indeed be hardware based.

The sims OK for holding contacts and texts if applicable. Personally I do not keep anything on my sim.
It's all in the phone , sd card and various back up options.
It is best practice to keep it updated as much as possible.
Best of luck.
