I have run the update on my Sony Z3, and it is now running Android 6.0.1, build number 23.5.A.0.570.
It feels like a beta version.
The camera is now restricted to 8MP only, there is no landscape homepage, and the Sony Stamina settings are no longer there.
Please tell me this will be fixed soon, particularly the camera. No point having a high-spec camera phone if it can only shoot 8MP.
Is anyone else having the same issue?

Hi ,
I've seen both positive and negative view points on what the new marshmallow firmware brings.
Vodafone test the firmware before releasing it to their branded handsets to ensure it does not clash with their network.
They wouldn't Imo change anything to do with camera specs or stamina modes.
This probably would have been by the Google developer teams for Android marshmallow.
If this was me I'd Google for these changed and look to forums for people using that model of phone to get a handle on what's happened.
Something connecred to the Stamina mode here http://www.xperiablog.net/2016/05/04/new-beta-marshmallow-update-stamina-battery-mode/

Thanks Lee. I had seen one of those articles, and had hoped that it would be integrated by the time I got the update. Hope fully it will be updated again soon.

To switch the camera resolution to 20mp you will have to switch it to manual. The option to do so is at the top of the screen on the left when you have the camera turned on. The previous Android vesion also required it to be switched to manual to use 20mp btw, it was however far easier to locate the method to do so. With regards to the Stamina mode, Google introduced their own automatic power saving method within Marshmallow which is likely the reason why the Sony method has been removed. From looking around some other forums (GSMArena is a good one to browse through) Sony may reintroduce it at a later date.

Thanks slartster, I don't remember the 20MP option being hidden like that before - but I'm glad the option is still there. 🙂

It was due to the auto mode selecting resolution on the fly dependant on light conditions I seem to recall. I only noticed it when I had a batch of photo's last year that were in varying resolutions. I always find that using Manual usually results in better photo's in optimal lighting though.
