Sure Signal V3 Worked for 4 Months fine - Now NOTHING!!

Hi there!... I wonder if anybody can halp me with this issue as after countless calls to Vodafone Technical I seem to be getting nowhere!!

I live remotely hence the need for the Sure Signal device which I bought as Vodafone would not provide!!

This worked fine with Sky Broadband for the last 4 months!

Last week the device went into 'Registration' mode with orange lights and I have not been able to connect to the service since despite countless attempts talking to vodafone, de-registering it and registering again etc etc... It simply will not connect period!

Now I know my speeds are not exactly what the device needs as a minimum!... I was advised this at the beginning but was told that it'll work as best it can... Which it did!... I had to shut down downloads when I received a call but I could work like that as a temp fix!!

Sadly nothing now and I have no Vodafone signal here where I live!

Vodafone do not want to know!!!

Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

Regards

Cris

Have replied to you privately....

The fix for me was to assign an internal static IP address for the suresignal through the router then 'Port Forward' TCP/UDP ports as required by SureSignal to the allocated/reserved internal IP address!

If using DHCP.. Any router firmware upgrade will effectively render the SureSignal inop again unless the above process followed as resets all the firewall rules/services

Contact me for specifics on this and I'll be more than happy to assist!

Ensure that your Sure Signal device is assigned to a fixed static IP address on your router’s network and that IP address should be assigned to Sure Signal device’s MAC address (the sure signal MAC address is written on the back of the sure signal device)

The maximum connection MTU size to guarantee the connection is 1500

Port Protocol Type

8 TCP UDP

50 TCP UDP

53 TCP UDP

67  UDP

68  UDP

123  UDP

500  UDP

1723 TCP UDP

4500  UDP

33434 - 33445  UDP

I Have same problem.

I had Suresinal vs 2 on Virginmedia 60MB feed.

Unit failed Dec16th.

Since then I had two vs 3 & another v2 suresignal - nothing works.

No changs on my Broadband sevice & equipment.

I am a VodafoneBusiness Customer & now they say they cant do anymore to help!

Ridiculous - something at Vodafone or their network MUST have changed.

Hi guys,

Splitpin - Glad to hear it's working! Thanks for posting back what worked for you as well.

WebbsLodeHouse - We've not made changes to the Sure Signal system. It may be a change by your Internet Service provider (ISP) or an automated update to the router or firewall which has stopped the system working.

Post the following information so we can get a better picture of things:

 - Your Sure Signal serial number.

 - Your speed test results from here.
 - Your ping test results from here.
 - Your external IP address from here.

 - What light pattern are you seeing on the Sure Signal?

 - Are the Ethernet Lights on the Sure signal lit, flashing or off?

Can you also paste the results of a traceroute here for me?

On a PC

- Click on Start and select Run.

- Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok.

- A black box will appear.

- In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 and press Enter.

On a Mac

- Open Terminal (Applications, Utilities).

- Type traceroute 212.183.133.177 and press Enter.
