Sure Signal and BT Home Hub 3

Like many others I also have problems with my sure signal no longer running over my BT home hub 3.  The answers to all the techie questions that seem to get asked is below.  But as I am a mum of twin toddlers I can't spend hours fiddling with it to configure it and get it to work so my simple question is - if I buy a third party modem router will it work and will it avoid the problems.  If so, which one can I buy that is known to work with the sure signal?  Thanks in anticipation...

Hi e_adams,

 

Due to the large number of routers available, we’re unable to say which will work with your Home Hub 3.

 

Your speed test, ping test and traceroute are fine.

 

Your IP address is on our whitelist, so no problems there either.

 

The serial number you’ve given me shows as invalid, can you check it for me?

 

It should be 11 digits long and start 211 or 212.

 

With this information, we’ll be able to dig a little deeper to see what’s happening.
