Sure Signal minimum Speeds needed

Does anyone know?

I am having so much bother getting mine to work on my good fast ISP, I am thinking about reconnecting it to my BT Broadband hub, which is quite slow, but it worked fine prvsiously in a different house

All the posts I find about speed, say take a speed test, but then don't say what the speeds needed are!

Hi there

The minimum line speed needed for the current version of the SureSignal is 4.13Mbps.

Thanks

Is that up and down? My main broadband provider is 32 down and 10 up consistently but never worked. My BT which I'm going to try it on is 4 down and 0.5 up
But I've seen some stuff on Voda 'a website which says 1.3mbp/s

Hi paulqpr,

@drey_p is spot on, you do require 4.13Mbps.

Thanks,

Gemma

Hello, could you clarify the minimum speed requirements - I'm in a rural area and my SureSignal is essential for business and personal use - we have had issues for years with BT but we now have part fibre which brings up the speeds.

However, this week I have had problems with SS and I'm hearing the new information that a minimum upload speed of 1.3 Mbps is needed. My line has a consistent speed of 10 Mbps download but only around 1 Mbps upload, sometimes as low as 0.4 Mbps. BT tell me that this is "fine" and the best I can expect.

Reading this thread is seems that I am well above the speed on download, but not sure about upload. Can I have a definite answer please, and any suggestions what I might do?

Btw, SS is fine this morning after days of iffy-ness

Thanks

Hi simondaykin,

The exact speed requirements do vary, depending on which version Sure Signal you’ve got and how many calls you want to be connected at one time.

The speeds you’ve given (1Mbps upload and 10Mbps download) are fine. :Smiling:

I’m pleased this has improved for you. If you have any further problems, take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread.

That's a shame as was thinking of buying one and moving across but can only get 3 Meg via ADSL (can technically get Fibre To The Premises here but want to wait for the prices to drop a little more at my chosen ISP as I wouldn't touch our former telecoms monopoly with a barge or any other sort of pole)
