Hi,
Ive had BT Infinty installed and it workd very Fast, 80Down 20up.
My sure signal also works no problem, but when i have my sure signal plugged into the Home Hub the speed drops to 5Down 2up.
If i unplug the sure signal it stays at this speed, once i have switched off the Infinity and back on it then works fine all day on the 80/20.
Is there some settings i have to change or has anyone else had this issue.
Please help its driving me crazy.
Regards
Dan

Hi James,
I have tried each spare ethernet socket on the HH,
I will try and have a look at the settings for traffic later when i get home.
Im pretty sure all of the settings are out of the box, it was only installed last week.
Sorry to be a bit dim but what is MTU.
Regards Dan

Hi danfrater,
The MTU is the Maximum Transmission Unit. This is the size of the packets which the router will allow to be passed through it. A good analogy would be an unmanned letterbox - the postman can only deliver what will fit through it, and anything bigger would be rejected.
To minimise the impact of any such restriction with a Sure Signal, we recommend setting the MTU to 1500 or - if the routers maximum setting is lower than that, such as 1492 - the maximum allowed setting.
Unfortunately we cannot advise where to find it listed as it can vary between routers and we don't have the details for each one available. The router manufacturer will generally be able to help with this, for example via manuals or their website.
Let us know what you find.

Hi, For some reason it seems to have settled. With the sure signal plugged in it now gets 60d 18u and without 70d 20u. We were guaranteed 65u 20d so I can deal with that. Thanks for your help with this. I can't say what had changed because apart from leaving the SureSignal unplugged for 48 hours for the line to settle as its a new installation nothing else has changed or been changed. 🙂 Merry Christmas.
