I'm having issues with my sure signal. It's a V3 and the power light is on, however the 1st light flashes white for about 2 minutes, as though it loading, then the sure signal just resets itself over and over again.
I was advised that I needed my ISP to set up a static IP address, however when I spoke to my ISP they wanted to charge me for this service. I'm not paying for this as the Sure signal is meant to just plug in and work!!!!!
What is wrong with it?

Hi Pcornish,
Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?
Cheers, Ben

Hi
I've already had a look at that thread and there isn't anything to reflect this issue.
The power light is on and the internet light flashes white, then it never gets beyond that point. It is then as though the unit resets itself after a couple of minutes and starts again.

You shouldn't need a static public IP (from your ISP)
It should be plug in and go, but depending on who your ISP is, and what router you have been supplied, it may need tweaking to let the correct traffic in and out of the building securely.
Sometimes ports need forwarding to the suresignal for inbound traffic (thus the suresignal needs a static address)
Sometimes if the router is VPN aware, it needs a feature turning on/off as it will be trying to terminate the connection, rather than passing it to the suresignal.
The flashy internet light I can't quite recall what that means, but it will be trying to connect to something and then fail... and then trys again.
Who is your ISP, and what router do you have, and maybe it's one of the more common combos that are easy to diagnose

It's Plusnet and it is the Thomson router TG582 I think.

Can you take a look in your Plus Net member portal
Under My Account on the right, hit Connection Settings, then Broadband Firewall.
Switch it to Off and reset the suresignal
- if it's a plug type suresignal press and hold reset for about 3 seconds.
- if it's a box style one, press and hold reset for 10 seconds, pull out the power while still holding reset, wait 10, plug the power back in, release reset when the lights flash.
I think I have one of those routers around somewhere, but no suresignal to test it with... If i get a chance i'll take a look at the settings and see if there is anything that stands out to turn on or off.
