System.accessviolationexception (help!)

Can anyone help?? I have an Acer aspire 3500 with an xp o.s which I have been using my k3565 mobile dongle fine until the weekend when a Program error message keeps coming up and will not let me open the Vodafone mobile connect program to go online.

System.accessviolationException:Attempted to read or write protected memory.

I have tried uninstalling vmc program and re-installing it but this has not solved the problem.

Any suggestions would be greatly recieved.

Thanks

Hi Howlingmad72,

This particular error message could be a couple of different things. Firstly, try installing the Hotfix from the Microsoft Website for this particular error. I would also make sure you have all of the latest updates from Windows Update, especially any upgrades to the Microsoft .NET Framework.

If this does not fix it, it could mean that your computer's RAM is corrupt, and I would recommend you get a professional IT support person to check this out for you. It may mean that your RAM will have to be replaced, although I would expect you to be getting this error with other programs as well.
