“This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone.”

Had my iPhone6 for a 2 weeks now, and it was charging fine for a day or three, but now I get :

“This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone.” and it wont charge until it decides to

I have read about making sure the port is lint free (which it is, as its brand new.

Anyone else having this problem?  Any ideas about a solution?

For what its worth, I have to use my daughters iPad charger to get it to fully charge, which suggests a defective charging cable to me?

It sounds like a dodgy cable and this is not an uncommon message apparently. It's designed to appear when you use 3rd party chargers with Apple devices as they are trying to force us all to use Apple products.

I'd take it into an Apple store and ask them to change it for one that works properly.

Thnaks for replying...

Yea Im gonna try that tomorrow, although I bet they say as I bought it from vodafone, i have to take it there!  Then when I go to Vodafone they will probably say take it to Apple!

Can any vodafone personal comment on this?  Apple or Vodafone? 🙂

No one from Vodafone will comment for 48 hours at the earliest.

You have two warranties - one from Apple and one from Vodafone. Vodafone doesn't carry individual components like chargers whereas Apple does. Apple customer service is excellent and they won't send you back to Vodafone.

Frankly, members of the community like me always advice our fellow customers to go to manufacturers for warranty repairs.
