Tocco Lite firmware (or overcome the 8-digit code)

My daughter has moved up to a new phone and I want to reset her old Tocco Lite so I can reuse it as our spare phone. But she's inadvertently set an 8-digit code so I can't reset it.

It seems like the only way to overcome this is the reflash the firmware - does anyone know of a source of the firmware that isn't 'some dodgy looking site in Russia'?

Alternatively, anyone know how to overcome this 8-digit code?  Tried 00000000 and all the obvious alternatives (12345678 etc) with no joy.

Happy to confirm the IMEI etc if someone from Vodafone can help.

Would it not be easier asking your daughter for the code?

If the phone came from Vodafone, it may be possible to get this done by sending it for repair, though there may be a charge.  Alternatively, you could try going to Samsung - they have a list of repair centres on their UK website.   Either of those options would give you genuine firmware.

I've never heard of an 8 digit code, though, only a 4 digit one (though I'm not familiar with the Tocco Lite).   I did once encrypt a phone I wanted to reset (4 digit code) and I had to decrypt it before I could reset it (needing the code to do that).   It's possible that the device would reset anyway if you enter the wrong code enough times, but that's fairly risky as I don't know what else it would do.

In the first instance, if this is a Vodafone-supplied device, I'd drop into a Vodafone shop and see if they have any suggestions.  They may know what to do or may be able to organise the repair process.
