Troubleshoot mms picture sending problem?

Mist
1: Seeker

Hi everyone, I wonder if anyone can help troubleshoot my problem right now.

I have an LG Viewty Lite phone KU990, which I am basically happy with. I found out ages ago that I can't transfer pictures from my phone to my laptop, as the phone happens to be incompatible with my Windows Vista operating system.

But that didn't bother me, as I could always send pictures via MMS to my email address, and then pick them up from there to save onto my PC.

I pay monthly, and the MMS pics always incur a small extra charge which goes onto my monthly bill.

I've been happy doing that for 7 years!

I've had the phone since 2008, don't want to get a new one -as I said, I'm happy with it -except for this sudden glitch.

This has happened only in the last couple of weeks, or it may be a slightly longer time. I'm not sure. But now no pictures will send at all. Even though I have full battery & a 4 bar signal!

The phone is working fine in other respects.

Can anyone help?

Hi

I would suggest contacting customer service and have the MMS setting re provisioned.

You should be able to attach a picture in an email and then open it up on your computer and save the attachment.

Also try texting WEB to 40127 and follow the return instructions.

Given the number of different ways of sending pictures now (from email to IM and chat apps), MMS is a bti of a legacy service.  bear in mind that, while the other options are free (as long as you're using inclusive data or wifi), MMS is always chargeable.  It does sound as though you need to get it provisioned on your account, though.

Thank you both for the replies. Appreciated.

I can't send via email from my phone as I don't have internet activated on my phone. It's no use to me on the phone, as there are only a couple of spots in my house where I get a decent signal, and both are perched on window-frames! LOL!

The one option that always worked was sending via message (mms) TO my email address. The weird thing is why it suddenly won't work anymore.

I had no idea I needed to get MMS sending validated by Vodafone in any way ...(scratch head)....as I have been sending pics via MMS for years, with only the small surcharge added onto my monthly bill. I will definitely check that out though, as there are too many moving parts in life nowadays!

You're welcome.

My own preferred way is to use the DropBox App.

So when I take a picture on my phone it goes straight to Dropbox and as Dropbox is also on my iPad and computer I can access Dropbox and save the image in the Pictures section of that device too.

Dropbox would require internet access, of course.  Could you not use email via wifi on the phone?  You can still have mobile data turned off.
