USB modem: IM Not Working

Hello there, I have recently (before xmas) purchased a vodafone dongle for internet.

All is well and good apart from I can't seem to sign into any IM clients? Web clients work fine but I would like to be able to sign into MSN using aMSN or similar.

WLM doesn't update for some reason, it says it cannot install
aMSN just hangs on "sign in" but never actually signs me in
AIM just won't have it
Trillian says "error whilst connecting please check your account name and connection then try again thanks" but my details are correct.

Apparently content control has been turned off on my account

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

No help but maybe an explanation.

Vodafone force their public IP addresses to be shared between users rather than having each user
keep a single IP address for duration of the dialup connection. This breaks a lot of internet protocols
including messaging and some http connections, also leading to Vodafone IP addresses being
blacklisted (even my own servers would auto block all Vodafone IP addresses if I'd not whitelisted
them for a limited number of services to allow myself access).

Any competent provider allocates a single IP address to a user for duration of period connected
which results in less congestion, faster connections, but any rotation of IP addresses has to be per
connection which needs to be managed to allow fair usage.

Thanks for the explanation.

Is there any way I can bypass this?
