Unable to answer incoming calls

Hi, I have downloaded lollipop and like they say "if it aint broke dont fix it" and i wish i had listened to that advice. I have now got loads of issues with my s5 ie text tking ages to send,a lot slower than it use to be,battery life none existant but the most annoying is i cant answer incoming calls. I have done factory reset twice now but still the same. I can make calls no problem, i have tried changing answering phone to a different button but still just hangs up on incoming caller.

Also is there away of reverting back to old operating system and is it straight forward with no issues of losing anything off my phone, doing a reset is bad enough. Any help appreciated

Cheers

Lollipop is a major undate and often requires a factory reset to get everything back on an even keel   Don't forget to back up your content and make sure your contacts and calendar are fully sync'd first.   If you have an external sd card, it's also a good idea to remove it in case the process wipes that too.

What happens is that bits of the old code hang around in the systme cache and confuse it.   A rest will clear this out and solve most post-update issues.   Once it's running properly, Lollipop is very light on its feet and may even be a bit more power-efficient.

Thanks for reply but you didn't read my post properly as you would of seen I have already done reset twice with none or little affect.

Sorry, missed that.  It's a distinctly odd one, then.  It may be that a re-flash of the OS may fix it and it might be worth talking to a Samsung repair centre (see the Support tab of their UK website) to see if they could do it while you wait.

Hi @12bazza

If you've factory reset the phone, the issues may not be related to the update.

So we can rule out a separate fault with your SIM, phone or local coverage, please run through our

Network Troubleshooting thread.

If you are still experiencing the issue after completing these steps, post the template with your answers here and I'll have a member of the team get back to you ASAP. :Winking_smiley:

Cheers,
Ben

Sorry but it's not a network issue as I can make calls and receive them but have to do it via blue tooth. Getting worse as day goes on. Can not read emails now. I'm in process of trying to back date firmware to 4.2.2 and hopefully that will work but not having much luck with that either.

Update on poxy lollipop is now txt not working properly. Send txt and it does not show in txt log so you think it not sent so you end up sending same message loads of times. Got to love a crap update.

Hi @12bazza

Please follow the troubleshooting steps that Ben gave you.

Then we can identify where the fault is coming from.

Thanks,

Rolled back to last update 4.2.2 and so far so good. Like I said wish I never updated and like I said as well , nothing to do with coverage or sim as everything was ok.

Cheers

Very odd and seems to be an isolated incident.  I'd recommend talking to Samsung tech help as there may be an incipient fault that hasn't manifested itself otherwise yet and is just waiting in the background to bite you when you least expect it.
