We’ve created this thread to help with online problems that may occur when registering, or managing your Sure Signal.
You need an online account so you can register and manage your Sure Signal.
You’ll receive a text as part of the registration process, which contains a security code. This code is only valid for 20 minutes.
We understand that if you own a Sure Signal, you’ll most likely have little or no coverage, so we recommend you register online when you know you’ll be able to receive the text.
Business customers:
If you’re a business customer you can’t register this via My Account and you need to visit Sure Signal for business. Just click ‘Register a Sure Signal’ and enter your company name as the owner and your mobile number as the administrator - this way you can still make any changes needed.
Consumer customers:
You’ll receive a text or email to confirm that the Sure Signal is fully registered.
Please note that problems can occur, if the number that’s registered as the Owner of the Sure Signal, is different than the main number registered for online billing.
Check for planned maintenance:
Check the forum for any planned maintenance. If there is, this will be announced at the top of the Sure Signal forum.
Planned maintenance can involve changes to the registration system, so wait for this to complete and then retry.
Pending active:
If your online account shows the Sure Signal as ‘Pending Active’, then post in this thread and we’ll look into it further.
All other issues:
If you have any other problems with your Sure Signal registration or management, just post the details below. We’ll need the following:
Thanks,
Jenny

Hi
Having managed users for my sure signal via the website, I no longer have the option on the 'my sure signal' page to manage them. Only to register it or remove myself from it. Have given up trying to speak to someone at Vodafone as you keep cutting me off or putting me through to numbers ni your own organisation whicvh no longer exist! Unbelievable.
Please tell me how to manage the numbers or just sort your website out. If there was another comany out there with a sure signal device I'd have left Vodafone years ago.
Thanks
PS. You could pay your taxes too, like the rest of us.

Hi folks,
Can you follow the instructions I've sent each of you via Private Message so that we can look at your registration and portal details from here? You can find your PM inbox here. Remember to include the serial numbers of your Sure Signal too.
timcs1968 - I advise you check our formal statement around the unfounded tax accusations made here.
Cheers, Ben

Hi
I am unable to add a new user to my Sure Signal 2. Basically I get to the CONFIRM page after entering the new number to be added. When I select CONFIRM, I get the following error message;
Error invoking portlet "VAPGatewayController"

I am using a MacBook Pro running OS 10.8.2 and Safari 6.0.2. What is going on?

Hi there Stixy,
Thanks for your post.
First of all can you confirm the number you are trying to add is a Vodafone number and using a Vodafone SIM card? If it's not then it won't work.
If it is could you confirm if the number has recently ported from another network?
Finally, could you confirm the VSS serial number for me?
Cheers,
LeeH

Hi
Of course the SIM card is for the Vodafone network, and no, it has not been ported from another network.
But have been told that the SIM card tht I was trying the register, has "failed SIM registration", (New SIM card, company phone). So will wait until a new SIM has been supplied.

Hi, I have recently sold my sure signal (serial no 40112303074 ) and the new owner is having having problems registering it as it says it is registered to another person.
Can you help or advise

Thanks for the update Stixy. Please do let us know how you get on once a new SIM has been received and registered.
JamieForster, we'll need to pass some security details in order to de-regsiter the Sure Signal from your name and account. So that we can do this I'm sending you a PM. Please follow the instructions included in there and we'll be in touch.
Thanks,
Phil

Thanks,

All sorted, just had to wait for the SIM to register onto the network.

Think I know why I have a problem.
my sure signal was registered to a number I no longer have on my account and I am no longer able to access the administration.
is it possible to reset my suresignal so that I can re-register?
Thanks

Hello JPeter,
Thanks for the post.
We can do this for you though we need you to confirm security first of all.
I've sent you a PM which can be accessed here. If you could follow the instructions in the PM and send us your details one of the team will be with you as soon as they can.
Cheers,
LeeH
