We’ve created this thread to help with online problems that may occur when registering, or managing your Sure Signal.

You need an online account so you can register and manage your Sure Signal.

You’ll receive a text as part of the registration process, which contains a security code. This code is only valid for 20 minutes.

We understand that if you own a Sure Signal, you’ll most likely have little or no coverage, so we recommend you register online when you know you’ll be able to receive the text.

Business customers:

If you’re a business customer you can’t register this via My Account and you need to visit Sure Signal for business. Just click ‘Register a Sure Signal’ and enter your company name as the owner and your mobile number as the administrator - this way you can still make any changes needed.

Consumer customers:

You’ll receive a text or email to confirm that the Sure Signal is fully registered.

Please note that problems can occur, if the number that’s registered as the Owner of the Sure Signal, is different than the main number registered for online billing.

Check for planned maintenance:

Check the forum for any planned maintenance. If there is, this will be announced at the top of the Sure Signal forum.

Planned maintenance can involve changes to the registration system, so wait for this to complete and then retry.

Pending active:

If your online account shows the Sure Signal as ‘Pending Active’, then post in this thread and we’ll look into it further.

All other issues:

If you have any other problems with your Sure Signal registration or management, just post the details below. We’ll need the following:

  • Exact error message
  • Step by step instructions for how to recreate the issue
  • Operating system
  • Browser and browser version

Thanks,

Jenny

Hi Andrew,

I just tried again and now the server doesn't give that error back and I was able to add the users (the same ones I was trying to add the other day). Same browser, didn't have to clear any cache/cookies.

Looks to me like the SureSignal server backend was having a bad day, but this is by no means the first time I've seen this issue over the past 2 years of usage.

Hi slydogjonah

Great news to see that you managed to get the users added :Smiling:

Hi garethj

It can take up 24 hours for the number to connect to the Sure Signal. Have you noticed whether it's connected since you posted?

Hi rebeccafish

Thanks for your post. I can see that there are two numbers registered to that Sure Signal. However, as it's personal information and we'll need to make sure that the correct numbers are registered, we'll need access to the account. I've sent you a private message.

You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon, thanks for the response. Still not connecting I'm afraid. Any suggestions?

Hi garethj,

I've done a resync for you, so can you reset the Sure Signal for me?

For Sure Signal version 1 or 2:

  • Hold down the reset button until all the lights show (about 30 seconds)
  • Keeping the reset button held down, remove then re-insert the power lead.
  • Once all lights display release the reset button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

For Sure Signal version 3 (with the built-in plug):

  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for this but the phone suddenly connected yesterday and now both seem fine. I was just about to reply to this post to say it had been fixed! Should I still do the reset as you suggest?

Hi garethj

You don’t need to re-set it if its working :Smiling:

Thanks

Suhki

Great, thanks Sukhi (and the rest of the team)! Thought it was worth checking, you never know... :Smiling:

Hi. I've been trying to add a new user to my sure signal. Works fine until I press the confirm button when the web page shows a very long error (see below). Any idea about what I need to do?

The error is:

Hi Plasadda,

Thanks for posting. That's quite an error code! Does this appear no matter which browser you try even after you've cleared your cache and cookies? Also is it only around the same time of day you get the error or can it be anytime? Let me know if it works when you've tried the above. :Winking_smiley:

Cheers, Ben

Yep. Quite long.

I've tried this on my pc at work (brand new) using IE and on my mac at home (both Safari and Firefox) and am getting the same message with all of them (I guess it's the same - looks like the same length).

Any ideas?
