We’ve created this thread to help with online problems that may occur when registering, or managing your Sure Signal.

You need an online account so you can register and manage your Sure Signal.

You’ll receive a text as part of the registration process, which contains a security code. This code is only valid for 20 minutes.

We understand that if you own a Sure Signal, you’ll most likely have little or no coverage, so we recommend you register online when you know you’ll be able to receive the text.

Business customers:

If you’re a business customer you can’t register this via My Account and you need to visit Sure Signal for business. Just click ‘Register a Sure Signal’ and enter your company name as the owner and your mobile number as the administrator - this way you can still make any changes needed.

Consumer customers:

You’ll receive a text or email to confirm that the Sure Signal is fully registered.

Please note that problems can occur, if the number that’s registered as the Owner of the Sure Signal, is different than the main number registered for online billing.

Check for planned maintenance:

Check the forum for any planned maintenance. If there is, this will be announced at the top of the Sure Signal forum.

Planned maintenance can involve changes to the registration system, so wait for this to complete and then retry.

Pending active:

If your online account shows the Sure Signal as ‘Pending Active’, then post in this thread and we’ll look into it further.

All other issues:

If you have any other problems with your Sure Signal registration or management, just post the details below. We’ll need the following:

  • Exact error message
  • Step by step instructions for how to recreate the issue
  • Operating system
  • Browser and browser version

Thanks,

Jenny

Also I do generally try in the evening but the attempt on my work pc was around lunchtime.

Hi Plasadda,

It is possible that either the web portal is having trouble or there is a broken link between your online account and the Sure Signal web portal.

So that we can get the amendments made for you and also look into this I have sent you a quick PM, please follow the instructions on the PM and one of the team will be in touch to help.

You can find your PM inbox here.

Hello, I bought a new and sealed VSS v1 serial no 21196910307. I have tried for several hours and several calls to the helpline and have been unable to register the device. I am recieving the..

  • Sorry, we're having a technical problem at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes.

Can you please help, my contact is up in 6 weeks and if I cannot recieve a signal soon, I have no choice but to leave Vodafone despite being a customer for over 10 years.

Sean

Hi there MobileChicane68,

Thanks for your post.

Can you tell me where you bought the Sure Signal?

It's showing as suspended and we can't lift the suspension. If it wasn't bought from us then you'll have to contact the seller for a refund.

Thanks,

LeeH

Hi Lee, it was bought from eBay but the unit was never used, registered or the box even opened. How can an electronic item have a use by date!

Sean

I am having the same problem, serial number 40112567504, everytime I try to register the site says there is a technical problem and to plese try in a few minutes.  Can someone help.

Hi there ZeroT,

Thanks for your post.

Where did you get the VSS from, please? I've checked the serial number and it's also suspended so you won't be able to register it. Instead I'd return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

Thanks,

LeeH

Lee,

A friend of mine gave it to me as he is no longer with Vodafone and doesnt use it, it was sat in a box for months unused so he let me have it.

Can it be unsuspended so I can use it.

Hi ZeroT

I'm afraid we're unable to remove the suspension, your best bet would be to return it like Lee said as it's no use.

Thanks

Sukhi

You are joking?

A perfectly usable working piece of hardware is rendered usless because you cannot remove a suspension?  What a waste!

Why would I return it, it's not like the previous owner can use it as they are no longer with Vodafone and even if they were you have just said it's of no use anyway!

There must be some way to have the suspension removed....
