Unlocking my precious Vodafone handset

I sent in a request over a month ago to unlock my handset (iPhone 5). I received an email advising they had received the info and would send me a pin code to unlock on the 16th February. To date I've still not received it. I phoned up to complain and the lady told me the computer told her the issue was still pending. Anyone know where I should go next?

Despite their stupid email about a code, iPhones do not have unlock codes.

The unlock request is processed by Apple and you have to connect to iTunes with a new sim in it to complete the unlock.
