I got a mail today saying that I elegible to an update.
But I look at the offers in my account and they are worse than the plan I already have.
For example my current plan is £30per month with Unlimited minutes and text and 20gb of data, the recommended upgrade is £40 with the same minutes and data, which doesn't make a lot of sense.
Also I'm looking to get a new phone with the upgrade, but the deals aren't that great, I get better deal with a new contract, than with an upgrade. Any way of getting a better deal?
Also why does Carphone offers a 64gb Nexus 6P on a Vodafone contract and there's nothing on the Vodafone website?

I would suggest speaking to Vodafone Retentions through 191. They maybe able to offer you something.
CPW basically marry up the SIM card with any phone they hold in stock so on occasion can offer more phone choice and sometimes slightly better tariffs. They give some of the kickback they get for opening up a contract from the network back to the customer.
There are however some con's
You would be their customer.
Some discounts available from opening up a contract direct with Vodafone are not available if taken out by an independent such as Emoloyer discount.

Thanks for the reply.
I gave them a call and it looks that I'm not yet elegible for an update.
They told me that the policy was updated and the details on the notification and My vodafone app were not correct, I will only be able to update on the 4th of April.
I also asked for the 64gb Nexus 6P and they don't have it.
I droped by the CPW store today and they have a better deal than the one Vodafone offered me, with the phone that I want. So I problably will just wait for the upgrade date and check again.

It would be worth checking with CPW that that deal is available on an upgrade. I looked at doing one with them once, and what they could offer was significantly less good that what Vodafone had. It was quite a while ago, though.
You're always in a better position to get a deal if you've completed your contract period as you then have the option to leave immediately. Also remmber that deals come and go to, if you don't get what you want first time, it's worth persisting. If you do get a good one, take it there and then as it probably won't be available for long.

Yes, I did ask them and the deal that CPW offered me was indeed for an upgrade.
But I still have to wait for the 4th of April to upgrade anyway, and the deals might change by then.
I still have two months until the end of the current contract. I real need a phone since I can't get a day of a full battery charge of my current phone, and I been having a lot of other problems as well with it.

You could look at a repair on your current phone. Most batteries are guaranteed for two years and, if you're still within your contract period, it's presumably younger than that. Lithium-based batteries have a charge-cycle life of 1000-2000 times, so you should be able to get at least three years, although allowing them to go flat will shorten that, It doesn't help now but, for the future, try to avoid this. There's no memory-effect, so more frequent top-ups do no harm at all and may even be beneficial. As a rule of thumb, turn the phone off or put it into extreme battery-saving mode when the level gets to between 15 & 10%
If the battery's replaced, it's likely that the phone will be tested and other issues may be fixed - indeed a simple reset which is likely to be part of the process may fix them. If there's anything specific, it's worth mentioning, though.

This is a 3 year old S4 that I got from a Swiss contract. It had his time and quite a few falls as well.
It had a bunch of other firmwares flashed to it by me over the years like Cyanogen and it's been working like a charm. I just got it back to the stock Rom, but that didn't seem to solve much, battery just got worse, probalbly needs a new one.
Battery wise I do try to be careful with that and not letting it got flat. But thanks for the tips.
Either way, I think it's time for a better phone.

Ah, at 3 years old, the battery's entitled to feel a little tired. :smileysad: My daughter is currently trying to get an iPhone 4 to its 4th birthday on the original battery, but is having to charge several times a day.
I would agree that replacement makes more sense than repair at this stage, even if my sustainability conscience rebels against that! :smileyembarrassed:

I'll probably will keep it, I'm using a Galaxy S2 for my Portuguese number, so the S4 will replace that, since the screen on the S2 has some dead pixels that showed up a couple of months ago.
I don't like to trowup old stuff as well. But I think that the Nexus 6P will be a nice replacement. I like the stock Android experience.
