I upgraded my phone and plan last weekend online My plan has now been changed to the new one, so clearly any credit checks were fine but the tracking for my new phone is still on order received (3 days and counting).
Bearing in mind I've waited the full 2 years to upgrade, so my current mobile is pretty knackered I'm not impressed that they go ahead and alter the plan before even dispatching the phone. No one seems to be able to offer any other information from CS which is just frustrating as well. I've not heard anything since the upgrade confirmation email to indicate any problems either.
The whole point of an upgrade is the phone after all, a concept that seems alien to some at Vodafone.

You don't mention the phone you upgraded to, it might be worth checking the phone is in stock. When the phone has been despatched, you will receive an updated email with a tracking number.
Live chat or Customer Services will be able to give an update on the order and let you know when you can expect to receive delivery of the phone.

As you already have a contract with Vodafone you wouldn't have had to be credit checked again.
I would definitely call Customer Services on 191 and ask specifically if the phone is available in the Vodafone for despatch.
The new contract would kick in wether the phone is despatched or not.
Personally I suggest to visit a Vodafone High steet store if local and convenient so a person then typically walks out with the phone and hard copy of contract. No stock delays or having to wait in for a delivery too.

I have a similair problem. I negotiated an early upgrade to an iphone 7 Plus, 128 Gb, black. The advisor did not tell me that the handset wasn't in stock. Over the last week, I've contacted customer services several times and asked when stock will be available. I get the same answer every time - your order is on 3 day back order. This seems to be a perpetual 3 days !! How can I escalate this please - all I want is a firm delivery date !!

@dgordon624 It's disappointing to hear you're waiting on the delivery of your phone.
What does it say if you track your order online?
