Usb Dongle - Can It Be Used In Portugal?

Hi there

I am going to Portugal next week and I have a pay-monthly Vodafone mobile broadband dongle. I have read on the internet that I could potentially purchase a PAYG sim-card called Vita-Net which I believe is Vodafone-Portugal.

I've read conflicting reports as to whether or not this sim will work in my Vodafone dongle, so I was wondering if anyone could clarify?

If it doesn't - what are the best alternatives? I'll probably be going online for a couple of hours each day for a one week period.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Chris

Hi wicko2009

Good question! I honestly think that it wont work.

However, I would suggest instead of using a different sim etc, then why not just take the dongle you have with the vodafone UK sim in it? Its alot cheaper than it used to be.

Daily charge
UK calendar day, midnight-to-midnight (inc.VAT)
Europe:
£9.99 for 50MB
World: £29.99 for 50MB

Enjoy your holiday! B-)

Hi Claire

Thanks for getting back to me.

Would I be right in thinking that its £9.99 minimum per day? If I just went on to check some emails and didn't use 50MB, would I still be charged £9.99.

Last question, I promise, is it £9.99 for every 50MB used? So if I did go over 50MB, I'd be charged another £9.99?

Thanks very much!

Hi Wicko2009,

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like - it's what we're here for ;)

Our billing system measures data usage in 1 byte steps. If you exceed your daily data allowance by 1 byte, out-of-bundle charging will apply which is £4.99 per Mb

If there's anything else you need, you know where to find us :D
