Usb Modem Stick

Wehave been using the USB Modem Stick Lite Error (model K3520) for a year or so without any probem. This is used on Windows XP PRO on a limited account (we installed using admin privledges).
However, we are now having problems. Each time we inssert the USB modem it starts to install and requests admin passowrd (users do not have this and so it fails).
If the user starts by running Vodaphone Mobile connect Windows throws and unhandled exception, see the attached image.

Due to security restrictions the users can only run on a llimited account.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi tpt45 and welcome to the eForum

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems here.

Have you started using a different USB port by any chance?

Other than this you will need to go to Device Manager and disable USB Mass Storage under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers drop down.

Please let me know how you go on with this and if you have any more questions and we'll be more than happy to help you further

Thanks

Wayne

Thanks Wayne the option of "disable USB Mass Storage" appears to work. We had to promote the limited account to admin install the USB stick and then disable USB mass storage. When we put the account back to limited it worked fine.
