Hi,
I currently have a Nexus 6 and at home I have no problem using a chromecast to mirror my screen via my home internet provider wifi router.
I may be required to spend some time away from home on business and the ability to stream/cast to tv screen would be very useful.
After doing some reading it appears that:
1 chromecast will not work with an 'open' wifi network (as found in hotels) so I won't be able to mimic this?
2 the Nexus 6 does not support 'slimport' so I can't use a 'wired' connection to mirror / cast either?
I do have access to a SIM free Vodafone mobile wifi device.
My question is: can I use this to create a 'secure' network between my mobile wifi device / Nexus phone / chromecast to cast to the tv screen?
If so do I need to get a 'data' SIM for the mobile wifi device and use that?
Or can I take the SIM from my Nexus and put it in the mobile wifi device and tether them together with the chromecast. (I ask this because I have 25GB data alowance which should be enough!).
Thanks in anticipation.
Jonathan
