V3 suresignal needs faster internet?

My V1  Suresignal  died a death so I purchased a V3 . This has failed to  connect to the 'Net and  the  man on the hlepline  tells me this is because  the  new  Suresignals  need  a  much faster Broadband  connection than the old ones. Is this  correct? And, if so, what is the point?...if  I live in an area  of  zero mobile signal, am I really likely  to have  highspeed  broadband  available?!!

No thoughts anyone? Nobody from Vodaphone who can comment?

I don't see the point of this forum....37 people  have now  viewed  my posting and  none of them  have  any comment to make...and presumably  that also means that the Vodaphone  personnel are  keeping their  heads  down  because  they know I've  been ripped  off over the new  Suresignal I purchased. And what's all this  about them not being unavailable?.....my local ( very small town) mobile phone shop  got one in under  24  hours  from his supplier. It's about time that Vodaphone came clean over this  whole  Suresignal  business...maybe it's no coincidence  that all the  other phone cuompanies  now  supply  something  similar  , either  via  hardware  or an app.

Hi @jhophins

The latest version (version 3) does require a slightly higher speed. You can find more information on this on our Sure Signal Support pages.

If you need us to check things further, please take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread. If this doesn’t resolve your query, please post your reply either below, or in the relevant thread, together with the details requested, including the following information.

Your speed test results from here.

Your ping test results from here.

Your external IP address from here.

The results of a traceroute.

Your Sure Signal serial number:

VSS Traceroute command

On a PC:

Click on Start and select Run

Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok

A black box will appear.

In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter

Paste the output of this command into your reply.

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

Thanks

Jenny

Good morning.

Speed    6.96  download,  0.38 upload.  Ping is 33 ms.with one site and 21ms ( jitter  1ms) with another.

IP address    86.133.91.138

At the moment I am re-trying with my V1 ( I am not convinced that it is  broken  despite ebing advised  to  buy a  V3  by Vodaphone) and  the serial number is 21230036176

There is no 'Run' command on my start menu ( Windows 7).

thank you

Hi jhopkins,

The 'Run' command should be found at this location.......

Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Run

Or try entering Run in  'Search all programs and files'

Hope that helps.

SORRY ...... I see you've found it!

I was able to introduce  a 'run' command  to my 'start menu'...but having  got the traceroute  results, there  is no way I can copy and paste them. So I have sent them as an attachment

OK...I think I've  supplied  all the information you asked for..what happens  now?  The  Suresignal still doesn't  seem to be working.......

Still no response......where is the technical person  who asked  for the data from me...and  what is she doing to help with my problem?

Hi @jhopkins

Thanks for the information you’ve provided.

Can you let us know the light sequence that you’re seeing with the Vodafone Sure Signal version 1 and which internet service provider you’re using?

Can you also try and reboot the router and then re boot the Sure Signal.

We recommend trying another Ethernet cable and try this process again if there's not change in the device after the first attempt.

If this is still giving the same light sequence, we advise to try the Vodafone Sure Signal in another location.

Cheers,

Laura
