Vodafone 2100MHz 4G In Eastern Scotland

Hi there, curious as to when 4g2100 is coming to the majority of Scotland in cities like Dundee, Perth, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Glasgow already has it, but is in a Vodafone sector and I am aware the rest of Scotland is managed by o2. Anybody know if we will get 4G 2100? 4G800 has been really slow in recent times with more users joining. Thanks

Hi, I live in Edinburgh and have been asking myself the same thing. Here we only have LTE 800 with vodafone.

I used to use O2 and band 3 is live on many sites around the city, offering decent speeds.

If not band 1, wouldn't it be a good idea for Vodafone to activate band 7 on some of the central masts in Edinburgh (since they have 20mhz on this band)?

Yeah I agree, would be good if they would do the same for all the Scottish cities. EE,3 and o2 all have a variety of bands here so I think Vodafone should include themselves as you get better performance on the likes of band 1 and 7

@Scooty997 and @amh13 - Please keep a look out via our network coverage checker for any planned coverage updates in your area.

I don't think we will see any upgrades anytime soon in eastern Scotland, since all of the 2100mhz band is still occupied entirely by 3g. 3g performance is great in Edinburgh, often reaching 30mbits (even in my home), whilst ironically 4g is often much slower, especially around Princes Street.

@amh13 Hi - heard they were doing work on 2100mhz in Edinburgh currently. Have you Noticed any of it? Cheers

No news unfortunately. Since around the beginning of December, 4g has been so congested in the city centre that I am often thrown down onto 3g (which ironically works really well). They seriously need to add 2100 or , even better, 2600mhz

Disappointing. It works so well in Glasgow like sometimes well over 100mbps but they have left all other cities behind. It was somewhat usable in Perth and Aberdeen (5mbps) in Dundee where I am mostly it’s just th throughout yet I could have full bars of 4G. Stirling is pretty good to be honest, but there is no demand/congestion there.
