Vodafone 527 Usb Cable?

hudsonpc
Not applicable
Hi,
According to the features list and also the booklet that came with my Vodafone 527, I should be able to get a USB connector for the phone. I understand that I need one with the proprietary connector at one end and USB at the other, but I have not been able to find one. Does anyone know which Sagem model the 527 corresponds to, or which is the closest compatible connector, or know of a stockist?
Thanks.

Hi Btibuzz

The handset should work fine when a USB cable is connected to a computer however as you say this isn’t the case for yourself.

All I can say is you will need the handset repairing and this can be done by following Jay's instructions :D

Thanks

Has anyone ever actually got a connection via USB to work? I'm tempted to buy a cable on ebay but if the Vodafone folk themselves don't know anything about using them it suggests it might be fraught with problems

I have been looking for a usb cable for a vodafone 527 with no luck, have tried carphone warephone, vodafone shops and small outlets in second hand phones with no luck.

There are a few of these phones on eBay at the moment, and also a couple of chargers.   Looking at those, the connector looks suspiciously like the one that Samsung fitted to tablets before they went to micro USB.   Look for "Samsung Tab 2 usb" and there are some listed - does that look like the same connector?  There's no saying that they're wired the same, of course.   The plug also looks like the Apple one pre Lightning port though, again, I don't know how they're wired.

The trouble with obsolete cables is that people tend to chuck them out rather than bother putting them on eBay.   I've just had a clear-out myself!
