My vodafone broadband was installed today and setting up my home ive come across the following issues.
1. My Laptop connected on the Wifi 5Ghz channel cannot see my Server connected by LAN Cable, if i disable the 5ghz band i can see the server fine but it reduces the functionality of the router.
2. I cannot connect to a device via port forwarding using the external router IP from within the network. however i can access the device from outside the network.
3. My fibre broadband speed is significantly slower (28MB) than the service i was recieving with sky (40MB) even thoughi was promised full (76MB) speed
has anyone else had these issues and can provide assistance ?

@SAUPE1976, just a thought, have you enabled split-sid in your wi-fi configuration? If you have, then it is my understanding that any wi-fi devices attached to the second (guest) sid, will not (should not) be able to see, or be visible from, and devices attached to either a wired connection, or the primary sid. Thes second sid in a split-sid configuration is a guest network, deliberately isolated from the main network. Just a thought, and might explain your problem. I would guess that wifi devices on the guest netork probably can't route to each other either.

all devices are connected on the main network

I recently switched to VF from BT & also regualrly connect from a wireless device to internally connected wired devices (Sonos, Sky Box, NAS etc)
I spoke to the VF team & was told that a router update was due that SHOULD fix this issue. However, having now found this thread i am not so sure.
The VF team did mention splitting the SSID's & have tried this without success.
So i now have Split 2.4ghz & 5ghz SSID's on my main wifi & also tried enabling the guest wifi.
I have ensured i am connected to the SSID of the 2.4Gz main wifi, but still cannot connect to any internal IP address.
i wish i had seen this thread BEFORE i signed up for VF, i think i would have stuck with BT or maybe tried Sky/EE.

@kryten2b
I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for an update which may/may not cure the issues. AFAIK we have already had one update to fix these problems!
I am currently able to leave but have not found an alternative ISP that would give a considerable saving.
However, please bear in mind I am one of the lucky ones who obtained their username and password enabling me to use my own equipment. Had I not I would have been long gone by now

We are having problems with Sonos controllers not able to connect to Sonos devices after moving between two different Wifi APs on the same network, and it seems to e related to the Vodafone Connect router Wifi/wired interface.I have those type problems, again and again, .so i decide to contact Verizon Routers Customer Service
