my vodafone e272 modem connects when i start up my computer. i`ve spoken to my isp and we set up the software to stop doing it , but it still does.

when windows start up i get the vmc screen asking my if i want to connect and when i decline the screen closes. the icon in the the launch bar shows " no connection" and the 2computer screens stays black with a red cross over it, this means im not connected,
but with all this i`m on the internet working on this forum . can u please tell me how this works

james.

even when i go to windows task manager , i does not show "running " there.

i cant disconnect it except by unplugging it from my computer when i want to play games and i don't want to keep doing that every time.

ive installed software :

VMC 9.3.0.8940 Compatibility Table
E272 Firmware Upgrade 11.311.04.01.00

these are the files my isp 'vodacom' gave me

thanx for the quiick reply .
hope we can sort this out

Hi Cliffy,

An odd one this!

I can only assume, since the VMC software is not running, that Windows built-in Dial-up Networking service is taking over and dialling out for you.

To stop this should be fairly simple (assuming I'm right of course). Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections Tab.
Choose "Never Dial a connection" and press OK.

Let me know if this doesn't fix it for you :)
