Vodafone Mobile Connect (VMC) - Ver 4.01.11.00 Crashes My MacBook

Hi ,
I would like to ask how can i achive this problem.I ve already installed new version of Vodafone Broadband connect driver (4.01.11.00) which was downloaded from vodafone.pt by me.
I m using Mac Book on Mac os X 10.6.4. Could you tell me what i ve to do to overcome " You must restart your computer .." problem?

You say you downloaded the software from Vodafone Portugal, is the modem supplied by this service provider too, and are you using a UK or Portugeuse SIM?

I can only assist if you are using Vodafone UK equipment and software. We do not have support or systems for Portugal.

I'm getting consistent crashes with the UK download of this version on a fully-patched Mac (snow leopard), using teh K4505 dongle. The crash is the full black veil effect requiring a physical restart. It seems to happen only when actually using the data connection - if i connect via the dongle but don't have any network apps running, it doesn't crash. But once i open a browser etc, the crash is 100% inevitable within a minute.

I haven't used the dongle for some months, but this is the same effect your software (v3.x) had on my macbook when snow leopard first came out. Do you actually test it? Do you actually do anything but change the version number?

My first instinct here is to explore alternative download options for the VMC software, they are not all configured identically and the download location does make a difference. For example, the VMC 10 Windows download does not support European settings, etc.

Please can you look at trying these versions of the software and update us on any success or failures:

1. Vodafone Mobile Broadband software for Mac users – v4.01.08.00


2. Vodafone Mobile Broadband software for Mac users – v4.01.07.00
