Vodafone Usb Modem Stick Huawei K3765

Akinyemij
Not applicable
I have been trying for days to set up my new USB stick. I have plugged the Huawei stick into my laptop and loaded the software. When I then try and use it it keeps searching for the stick but never finds it. When I turn my laptop off and start again I get a message it is looking for the new hard weear drivers. It cannot find them. I have uninstalled the software and reinstalled it several time but still no joy. I have successfully tried orange and t-mobile dongles and they download the necessary software and run no trouble. I have connected the laptop to my home link-using the cable and again no problems. The only time it doesn't work is with my vodafone dongle.

Can you please please help before I throw the thing away.

Thanks

HEllo Akinyemi and welcome to the eForum :)

It sounds to me as theough there may be too many instances of 'modems' in your Windows modem list, please can you try to do the following:

(please note this is an XP layout but should be similar on Vista)

1. Start

2. Control Panel

3. Phone and Modem

4. Advanced tab

5. Remove any modems by the name of Huwei or globetrotter

6. Restart your computer and try to run the software or plug in the modem.

Thanks
