'Vodafone is infected' alert message

Hallo, I am new to smartphone.

I opened a picture in Stumbeupon.com and a very alarming message appeared in white with black background saying something like this

'System warning, vodafone smartphone is infected, immediate action is required:

step 1. tap ok, go to googleplay to install the recommended virus removal App for free"

While I pondered what to do, the 360 Security antivirus page appeared, I didn't do anything, now when I go back to the same page the same warning appears.

I have already installed an antivirus called Lookout.

I looked up 360 Security and it is a genuine antivirus with 100 million downloads.

What should I do? can I have 2 antivirus Apps installed at the same time?

Thanks

Sounds like some aggresive advertising to be honest.

I don't visit "stumbeupon.com" often however i've just opened it now and it's redirected me to a BT survey (i'm access via a BT conenction) so they are obviously detecting your ISP and advertising you based on that. It looks like they are relying on people mistyping the more popular stumbleupon.com site.

I would run a scan with Lookout to make sure you are clean and then avoid the site in future.

Thanks, just to be clear I have suscribed to stumbleupon.com years ago and I quite like it, I get regular mail from them and never got any such scary pop up window on my computer.

Anyway I have just done a scan with Lookout and it found no threats.

Is it possible/wise to have 2 antivirus apps on the same device?

@eseg - Having 2 antivirus apps running at the same time may cause you issues, so I'd avoid that.

@eseg What @Retired-Charles said!

Typically AV product work by scanning files as they are opened. If you have more than one trying to scan the same file they could get themsleves stuck in a look. It may also be the case that on will identify the other as a potential threat and start blocking it.
There is also the amount of resource they take up, file access is the slowest operation your phone is likely to carry out, adding 2 lots of scans on top of that is only going to clow things down further. Play it safe and stick to one.
