Vodafone sent a text linking to porn web sites

Last year I recieved a random text from 08700700191 with my name and links to 'Glamour chicks' 'Babes2Mobi' etc. from the above number. I ignored the text but hadn't deleted it.

Yesterday I got a text from Vodafone Customer Services from the same number, I know this because because it appeared in the same text conversation.

Has anyone else had vodafone promoting porn web sites?

Hi there

It is highly unlikely that the text actually originated from Vodafone themselves.  It is more likely that their number is being spoofed by the spammers.

You can find out how to report this to Vodafone here

Hi @ajgx4

This eforum is owned and monitored by Vodafone U.K. We have members of the Vodafone Tech Team who are available to respond and Help where they can. They have the Vodafone logo next to their name. All posts are read by them.

Hang in there and I'm sure they'll be in touch.

Edit : If this was my situation I'd think about adding any number like this to my call and text blocking feature in the phone. (Handset dependant)

Hi @ajgx4

Following on from the excellent advise give by @drey_p, this message is being sent by Zamano Solutions.  You need to put the number into PhonePayPlus website where you will be able to find the contact details for the company.  The short code number for the company is 66033.

You can find further information on premium rate services below.

What are premium rate services?

Vodafone offer an excellent unsolicited reverse charge short code premium rate texts bar.  You can enable bars from your online account.  If there are any problems adding the restriction bars, Customer Services/Live Chat will help.

The issue is Vodafone use this number to txt me yesterday so if I had blocked it I wouldn't receive their text.
They also used my full name which I very rarely use

Hello @ajgx4

This sounds very odd. It is highly unlikely the sender is actually Vodafone.

I am going to send you a Private Message with further help on this.
