Vodafone smart prime 6 broken screen

Yesterday I cracked the screen on my Vodafone Smart Prime 6 so half the screen is unresponsive and I am unable to enter my unlock passcode. Is there a way I am able to retreive my photos saved on my phone as I haven't backed them up?

Hi,

Are you sure you were not auto backing up / storing them on any Sd Card.

Possibly Google Drive.

DropBox ?

This could be a costly learning curve I'm afraid to back up.

I use Dropbox.

You could try hooking up to a computer with a data cable to see if it'll allow you to go into its files.

A vodafone shop would send it off and assess it for a replacement screen and advise you of the cost but it's common practice to perform a firmware update which wipes the phone.

A google search yielded android-data-recovery/from-android-phone-with-broken-screen.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I was using an SD card but I didn't save all of my photos onto it because there wasn't enough room. I have attempted to get the photos by connecting it to my computer but it requires a passcode to view the data. Yesterday I went to the Vodafone store where I was told it would cost £75 for a replacement screen which would be ridiculous paying as a new phone would be almost half the price and I can't guarantee they wouldn't need to wipe the data to fix it. Perphaps this will just have to be a learning experience which will teach me to back up my photos from now on

You're welcome.

Appreciate replacing the screen can be expensive as it may not just be the screen but some of the internals too from however the screen was damaged + labour.

You could try a standalone cellphone shop to ask them to replace the screen.

Please note this would invalidate any remaining Manufacturing Warranty. This option is undertaken at your own risk.

Screen replacements and tools are available on auction sites along with YouTube style tutorials. Issues can be that the parts are of low quality and a person could end up causing further issues. Again this option if successful may allow a person to access the phone for stored data.

This may be a cheaper alternative and allow you to access the phone at least to retrieve your treasured pictures.
