PIN

I have a problem - I have been unable to get my phone to unlock since turning it back on. It said didn't recognise the PIN but its the one I set up 6 months ago and have been using ever since. I tried the default PIN 0000 after it kept telling me it was wrong, and it won't accept that either

It said wait 5 mins, retried, waited ten mins, retried said i had to wait 30 mins and now this is the second time I have had to wait an hour

Has anyone had a similair problem?

Holly

Hello @hollyrf85

May I ask which Android phone your using ?

The pin being a security feature to protect the phone and data stored on it cannot usually be resolved without losing the information on the phone. Hopefully you back up.

If you can advise which phone and android firmware your on may help so that more specific help can be supplied.

Options such as a Hard Reset as a last resort which is usually carried out by a series of buttons presses will take the phone back to the last firmware update could help but will delete any stored data in the phones storage. A Google search would explain what series of buttons presses would need to be carried out on your phone.

Also there will be help via the manufacturers Uk Support Online site.

Hi, is the device PUK locked now? this happens after (normally 10 i think) attempts to input a pin code.

Is it the device pin code or have you set a sim pin too?

Hi @hollyrf85

If you follow @63johnw advise and use Live Chat to get your PUK code, you will be able to use the network.

You will have three attempts to use the correct code.

If you have locked the SIM, you will need a new SIM for the number obtainable from a Vodafone Store.
