Hi All
I've just got one of these devices as I work on a ship and I'm away for long periods and it allows me to keep in touch with the family.
It works really well. However one massive disappointment is the fact that if you press the power button twice the unit displays the SSID and the passcode !!!!!
Needless to say, people have been helping themselves to my wifi connection.
It seems the only way to stop them doing this is to use MAC selective connection - that way only devices I authorise will be allowed to connect. However I've tried several times to add my laptop and my phone, but the software just says "loading" but nothing happens and the screen just starts back where it started.
Is this a known fault ?
I go away again on Wednesday and really want this resolved before I go so that my data doesnt get eaten up by unwelcome guests !!!

Hi, could someone please send me a PM with a link to the latest R205 firmware?
I am having various problems and want to be sure I am on the current release.

The release I got a month back was v4. a few posts up is the reply from Vodafone of the link I used to PM them. You might get a faster response that way, I seem to remember they were pretty quick.

Personally I don't find the R205 to be anything other than slow though but I do live in a poor signal area.

Hi Albal,
This is seth I bought R205 about 9 months ago but its started giving me problems not even to access the web ui. I think an update of the firmware will help solve the problem. However I dont have the firmware so can you kindly PM me the R205 firmware update.

it seems to me these R205 units are alittle bit of a nightmare. I had mine delivered today and cant even find how to register so i can top up when the data runs out. The online live chat team are constantly busy so no joy there. You would have thought Vodafone would at least give you some insructions on how to do this basic task. I am stuck on the first screen of the register account. It is asking for a mobile number which I obviously dont have, has its a dongle not a phone. Tried the two network numbers i recieved with the unit and they dont work obviously. Any help would really be appreciated. I now remember why i changed networks from vodafone in the first place, the support system is pretty poor for such a big company. (although I noticed that people on this forum are very good at trying, but ultimately send you to a local store who have no clue whatsoever). ce le vie
