car mode "Hi Galaxy" not working properly in the car

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S5, phone is paired to my 2010 Citroen C5, no problems with calls and the car mode starts automatically when I start the car.
All good so far. The phone even responds to my "Hi Galaxy" command but the little red microphone does not hear me. I can tap it, shout at it, whisper, nothing, no response. All works fine when not connected to the car via bluetooth, but the point is I would have thought, that this function works best when driving.
Has anyone else had this issue or better still, are there any geniuses out there that know how to make this work?

Yours Desperately
Andy

This sounds horribly like a Bluetooth incompatibility.  BT in cars is a complete can of worms.  It's possible your dealer can arrange a software update for the car, though.

Thank you for getting back to me Hyrm, it is appreciated

I had thought it might be that but hoped not. Perhaps Samsung think since I have a new phone I should have a new car as well?? Would be nice but not going to happen.

The problem with Bluetooth in cars is that the firmware is often several releases behind what's current.   You should be able to make basic connections, but anything more sopisticated requires matching versions and that's where the problems start.  It's worth having a word with your dealer to see if there's an update for the car.
