getting my gear fit watch

Hi, I have just received my new S5, I ordered online through a chat window on here and asked if I was being offered the gear fit watch as per the Web offer (I have the transcript of the conversation). I was told yes I would get it and when the phone arrives I'll get a txt about how to claim it.

I thought that was odd and quizzed if that was correct and was told it was and that it probably happens that way on all orders despite the Web page saying they are sent with the phone.

So my question is, when will I get this txt?

Hi there

 

As far as I am aware, the Gear Fit is only available with orders that have been placed online on vodafone.co.uk and not through other means such as via the call centre or via LiveChat. It may be an idea to return the handset, revert the contract, and order again online.

 

The eForum Team can also look into this for you but I don't know if they will be able to do much as it is an online only promotion.  I am curious about something though, you were aware that it was an online promotion,  why order from LiveChat when it shows this on the main page:

Erm i would check up on that as they both come at the same time

i was also told this by a Director

I would Give 191 a ring in the Morning (to avoid the offshore call centre) speak to the upgrades team

but don't panic if its wroung as you get 14 day cool off so they can sort this out for you

seems Live chat strikes again

Hi thanks for the replies, the reason it was through live chat was because it's an upgrade a month early and I was looking at my options through my Vodafone.

When I couldn't see the S5 I asked the question through live chat whether I could upgrade to the S5, I was told yes and I twice in the conversation (which I had emailed to me at the end) confirmed it was the Web offer including the gear fit. Why would I have thought it was anything different when I'm chatting through the Web page and the advisor tells me?

I will try and ring 191 later and hopefully someone on the eforum team can check it also.

The reason I said to check is this is a Web only deal and is done via the website.
The last thing we want to see is you not getting the watch
There is no texting to do when you get your phone the watch is sent with it, when you first posted it looked like a fob off they were simply tell you what you wanted to here
The upgrades team based in the UK know about this off
And the director that I spoke to told me that they have limited stock and there sold as the picture shows with the phone
If as the live chat say's you text to claim
Vodafone has legal got to say this, this is called subject to terms and conditions and state how to claim for the watch.
But there isn't as there doesn't need to be as the add says it comes with the phone.
I also hope the eForum can jump on this so your not disappointed when the watch does not come
Also correct info main is needed about this offer

I'm beginning to realise I was fobbed off, when ringing 191 I was put through to three people this morning and was confirmed I should have got the watch and that I would probably have to return it and be sent out one with the watch.... problem is they are now out of stock.

I was asked to ring back later in the week to check stock, only had a limited amount of time to make the call but the conclusion from the advisor was he didn't really know what to suggest! Not best pleased

I've replied as you requested. I also phoned yesterday to check stock of this offer, and again was told I am eligible for it but there is still no stock, and to try two more times next week while I'm still in the 14 day period, then my options are to keep the phone or send back. 

 

Although I take a pretty pragmatic approach to things like this, it's a shame it can't just be a case of "we're really sorry you've been given the wrong information, that you based your descision on, but we can resolve it by sending you a gear fit when its back in stock, no need to return your phone". My job is in the supply and service industry, and I would do that for my customers, but I guess when you get so massive, and all parts of the business are no longer fully connected, its just too much to ask!

Well they need to sort out there stock as they have just updared there main page promoting this 

what we don't want is phones coming out with no watches 

first the eforum need to check stock levels if there out of stock then the shop site needs to say this 

secound live chat need telling that they can not offer this clearly the staff are after commission on a sale

And all staff need telling any one after the watch has to order this on line

I am glad you have found this out now, so you now have choices
One. speak to the upgrades team and not the CS or sales get them to pic up this phone and scrap the mess the online chat made
two get a better deal with out the watch There £ 149 at the moment divide that by 24
if you want the watch I would get a cheaper deal and get the watch from another sauce
this is a prime example of what a mess the live chat makes of things
but speak to the upgrades team and tell them what has happened I hope vodafone can now sort this out
