iPhone 6 upgrade from 4s - iMessage prompt

Hi. I am on a business contract. I have just got a new iPhone 6 today and set it up from my 4s backup. All seems to be ok apart from annoying message popping up every time I start up the phone, and also noticed iMessage messing around at times not delivering or receiving some messages.

iMessage - Your carrier may charge for SMS messages used to activate iMessage

I never had this with my old 4s. I have re-downloaded WAP settings from Vodafone but still not working.

It's probably a good idea to start the phone as a clean install and not from a 4S backup, especially if they are on different versions of iOS.

You shouldn't lose any data as long as the 4S is backed up up to iCloud properly. All of your apps will download from the app store again as well.

Hi @mentalmechanic

It's also a good idea to check for software updates on iTunes too.

Thanks,

Ben

You could try logging out of iMessage and then back in to it to reset the connection.
