iPhone 7+ Payment Was Pending, Now Vanished...?

So I preordered an iPhone 7 plus black version at 9:15am on 9th September as an upgrade and immediately got a confirmation email and text.

I haven't heard anything since.

The upfront payment for the device was pending in my bank all week.
Now it's vanished. It's no longer pending AND it hasn't even been taken.

When I track it using the WEB code from the "Thank You for upgrading email", it's only got Stage 1 ticked... with Stage 2 highlighted green.

What does this mean?

I haven't had an expected delivery date nor a dispatch note.

Two Vodafone Live chat assistants and their Twitter support just tell me to track the phone and avoid answering the question to why no money was taken and how a pending payment has stopped and disappeared...

I'm so confused. Is it ordered? Has it been cancelled?

I know a LOT of people are experiencing delays, but is anyone else not even getting updates? Or having payments cancelled?
