iPhone messages - no notifications

All of a sudden, I've stopped getting that little red bubble on my messages to show when I've received new ones. Also, when I go into my messages, all the new ones are showing as red.

I do get the notification initially, but as soon as I unlock my phone, it's as if there was no new message.

My alerts don't show any of the message, so they've not already been 'read', as such.

I've also gone into the notifications settings, and everything is as it should be.

I've also tried hard resetting the phone (on/off button, with the home button, until the Apple sign shows up).

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Try removing the SIM card , wipe it with a soft cloth and re insert and turn back on. 

Also try Settings,General, Reset,Reset Network settings.
