my sony xperia m2 aqua wont charge

Ive had my phone for quite a while now and its been working great but yesterday it decided to refuse to charge.  I have tried a few different chargers but its like my phone doesnt even know anything is plugged in.

Hi. You could try a factory reset, failing that it may need to be sent for repair. This can be to vodafone or sony. I would go the sony route as they have more leeway when it comes to warranty repairs.

Thanks but i cant even try to reset it because the battery has run out.

Just a thought. 

Check the charging port for any dust jr lint that may have got into it.

Lithium-based batteries don't like being allowed to go flat and doing it does sometimes kill them.   However, I have kick-started one with a soak charge - it took about three hours before charging started, but was fine after that.  Don't leave the phone unattended though, just in case it overheats.
