Hi all,
I'm an existing Vodafone customer who has had a Pay Monthly SIM only for over a year. I've always paid the bill on time, and never missed a payment. Yesterday i called Vodafone to see if i could get a Pay Monthly iPhone 6s, and i told the advisor that i'd still like to keep my Pay Monthly SIM too. The advisor told me the order had gone through and that the handset would be with me by Monday. I received a text to say my "Upgrade" had been agreed. I was given an order number and when i check it, it says the following;
1. Received - Complete - We've received your order
2. Confirmation - Your order has been accepted - We've placed your order
This is where i'm confused. In step 3 which hasn't been completed yet, it says "Once your order is confirmed..." I thought that step 2 meant it had already been confirmed?
Does anyone know if this means i'll definitely be getting the new handset? Do Vodafone credit check existing customers? Also, is it correct that this order is considered an "Upgrade"? (As it's only a Pay Monthly SIM i have with Vodafone)
I just don't want to get my hopes up so i'm curious as to what the order status means. My current phone has an extremely cracked screen :smileysad: and i can barely see what i'm doing, so i'm really looking forward to getting a new phone. I know it's still very early days but if anyone could shed some light on what this means, i'd appreciate it!
Thanks in advance,
D12.

Hi,
No Vodafone wouldn't need to run a Credit Check for an upgrade unless your account hadn't been run cleanly. I.e. Unpaid / late payments.
I think you may need to allow for the weekend and check again Monday.
Check any spam in-boxes too.
If nothing moves then my suggestion is to contact customer service and ask if all is ok and if the phone you've chosen is specifically in-stock.

An upgrade means that have upgraded your sim only contract to a new contract with a handset. It isn't an additional line which is what you wanted. You need to speak to Vodafone right away to get this issue resolved.

Really!? I specifically told the advisor that i wanted to keep my current Pay Monthly SIM and take out the Pay Monthly handset and he said that was ok. Does this definitely mean that Vodafone have cancelled/will cancel my Pay Monthly SIM? I thought they maybe classed it as an Upgrade because i'm an existing customer...but i'm not very good with this kind of stuff. I'll get in touch with them right away. Thanks

We are fellow customers here so cannot see what's been processed on your account.
Please use Live Chat or ring customerservices on 191.
If you wanted to upgrade because your present pay monthly accoung was at that stage and you wanted a new handset then that's the upgrade to supply you with a new phone and new tariff for another 24 months.

I had the same issue 2 months ago and I never moved on from stage 2 but still received my phone.
I think Vodafone have been updating all there service's so it took time to catch up.
From my experience and what you have said, I would say your phone will be with you it's just a waiting game
But like other have said live chat or 191 should be able to confirm your order has been processed
