sim only flexible

Hi , i started a sim only deal in jan 2016 and was told i could upgrade within 3 months. So i upgraded my phone in may 2016 with a 24month contract. Expecting my contract to end in May 2018, but my account says contract ends in Jan 2019. I haved used the online chat and was told that because i upgraded early they have added the 8months on to my 24months contract. But i wasnt told this when i upgraded and i didnt think this was the case with the sim only flexible contracts?? confused?

My suggestion would be to call 191 and speak with Customer service as they'll be able to access your account and account notes to clarify whats been added etc. They should have advised the particulars with you.

We do have a Vodafone Social Media Team here who read all posts so they should be able to help if customer services on the phone dont clarify for some reason.

On the face of it, that certainly does sound incorrect and more like an early upgrade.   These are where you upgrade a normal contract (up to 3 months before term, I think) and the remaining time is added to the new contract.   It sounds as though that's what's been applied in this case.  The description linked by @BandOfBrothers makes no mention of any extension and I think it's something that needs to be clarified.

If you joined or upgraded on or after 12 April 2017 to one of our Essentials, Red Extra or Red Entertainment plans, you can upgrade after six months with a Flexi-upgrade 

It’s also possible to flexi-upgrade from a SIM only deal if you’ve had a 12-month SIM only deal for at least three months.

I had the same problem I upgraded with 3 months remaining on my SIM only contract using the flexi-upgrade and they added 3 months to the end of my 24 month agreement.

 

However a quick call to customer services and they rectified the issue which showed up on My Vodafone app about 24-48 hours later.

 

Be persistent but polite and I am sure they will resolve it for you.
