Hello all,
Having an issue with this, 2 years back after speaking to numerous agents for 2+ months my issue was resolved by turning the auto-channel-configurator (ACS) off, they all kept saying they could not do it until a technical customer relations person magically did.
Having the same issue again! I need the channel to be below 13 or some of my important devices do not work. Vodafone keep telling me lies such as Wi-Fi doctor has come out in 2022 and they cannot now change anything, when I have heard of it mentioned well before this time. They keep telling me to do it myself when I know this option was removed quite a while ago right? They said my ACS is off but I have sent photo evidence showing it is clearly not as the channels are switching!
A person called Vishal is dealing with it and he just doesn't listen to what you are saying. Waiting for a final response to my complaint after they once again marked it as resolved without even addressing it.
Is there anything I can do, I would just leave but contracted until Aug 2024! Thank you in advance.

The inability to change channel has been discussed multiple times. I suspect that your question has already been answered. Most likely you will be looking to disable the WiFi on the router and use a second device to take over that job.

........ or just use a third party router.
The vodafone router is set this way because apparently they are the experts.

The shame is that this is one of the very things that WiFi Doctor was supposed to be able to spot and fix without intervention. From what I can tell, it doesn't work and on the VF hardware never has!

Yes and they continually keep advising customers incorrectly!

Vodafone Broadband 4.1.0 for Android will sort you out.
Also sometimes a simple reboot of the router will change the 2.4Ghz channel from 13.

I searched for it but couldn't find a reliable source, do you know of any?

There is one here: Download Vodafone Broadband APK - 4.1.0 old version (Mar, 2020)
But obviously, as it isn't an official source, the usual warning apply.

Just to correct you, ACS isn't auto-channel-configurator, but auto configuration server, and yes, it is that that removes the channel choice. (among other things)
Vodafone can use it ensure you get the channel you desire, if they can be bothered.
It can't be turned off in the Vodafone routers.
