Hi. We have the 6e router which is superb but Vodafone tell me that it’s not possible to run any 2.4ghz devices from it - ring doorbells, most security cameras etc now don’t work.  Has anyone got any suggestions or experiences the same issue and how did they manage it ?  Can you buy additional equipment to help … or is there no fix for it?  Thanks

I don't have the Ultra router, but that simply can't be true. It wouldn't be "fit for purpose" as a domestic home router if it was.

It may have something to do with using compatibility mode, so take a look here:

Hopefully an actual Ultra router user can advise more.

Vodafone are talking total nonsense.

The whole point of 6E routers are that they are tri-band routers that broadcast 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz and 6Ghz. But wifi 6 routers are still dual band broadcasting only on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. That is what the difference is between wifi 6 and 6E.

What they are saying is their wifi 6E router is not to the wifi 6E standard? The cornerstone of each advancing standard is backwards compatability.

There's that farmyard smell again! If you have it in writing sell it to the tabloids.

Many IoT devices don't like seeing the 2.4Ghz band sharing the same SSID as the other wifi bands. I have the same problem with a drayton wiser heating system. Solution - separate access point that is able to be configured with a 2.4Ghz only SSID.
