Hi,
We have the full fibre 910 plan through city fibre which comes with the wifi 6 Powerhub router. 910 up, 910 down with min guaranteed as 455. Also with voip for the landline. We are in a 3 bedroom house and the router is in the middle of the house on the ground floor.
We have been pretty impressed so far, going from copper internet to full-fibre. If wired (we have used all the wired connections on the router but in some locations in the house we don't want to be using wired ) we usually see 800 up and down minimum (often a little more than 910) and wirelessly depending on the device and location, we usually see around 100-150 minimum up and down, some locations closer to the router getting 500 up and down min.
We have some spots in the house like the garden where we cant get any wifi connection. We had this with our previous setup and used extenders which did actually make a difference, but due to technology advancements, the extenders no longer make any difference (if anything are worse) with out new full fibre setup with the power 6 hub/router. Also we have other spots in the house where the speed slows down considerably up and down.
What options would you guys recommend looking into? Ive had a look so far at a wifi 6 or 6e mesh system with 2/3 units and almost use them as extenders, so they would be used in conjunction with the powerhub6 router. I've also looked at different routers which are meant to be better than the standard powerhub6 router.
So the main thing would be to reduce deadspots and increase speeds in current low speed areas.
Any advice is appreciated

That is a good option. We have got three gigabit network switches setup, going to our most needed places as neatly as we can. Ideally, we don't want to be pulling up carpets and floorboards if possible for other areas. If we could improve the dead spots and speeds in weak areas wirelessly , that would be ideal

I used a 10Gb SFP+ fibre connection just to be futuristic and to say I'd done it 😂

Oh wow, you are certainly ready for the future! 😅

Don't suppose anyone can shed any more light? I think specifically about upgrading the router or using 2/3 mesh 6/6e units as extenders with the standard router and your results.
Thanks

I'm now looking to replace the UltraHub, got the router but looking to sort out wifi. I did a lot of research and came up to options.
I don't need the range and I don't have deadspots and am able to get decent wifi everywhere so I'm leaning toward a Zyxel wifi 7 as the replacement for speed. However if you want overkill look at a second hand Ruckus R750 from ebay. These are industrial strength wifi AP's used in large buildings like hotels, halls, offices. They are said to have good coverage and beaming and they do outdoor units as well. I believe you can connect them via wifi. They seem to be about £300 each s/h but if they don't work nothing will. I suspect you will need to be tech savvy to set them up though. Checkout youtube for 'ruckus wifi'
