So Alexa is being switched off, echoing a similar thing Vodafone did with the WiFi boosters a while ago.
Phone this morning and all I am being offering is a downgrade for the same price or a further downgrade for £4 cheaper.

Apparently, you should also be given the option to leave penalty free.

Yes you can but its not right for Vodafone to act like this. Its yet another service removed with the official line probably being something like "to make the service better" lol.
When will Vodafone get their testing of products right and finally provide a level of service that is up to standard.

Don't rush into getting things out of proportion. Everyone here is here because we've had a problem or two. However there's many millions of vodafone customers getting what they ordered and are very happy with the service. If it was any different this forum and all the others with a vodafone section would be ringing with complaints. But they're not.
We are the rare exceptions.

Well I disagree with this. I've been with Vodafone for over 5 years now and right from the off there was trouble.
Customer service chat is not the best depending on who you manage to speak to. I received compensation for the first comedy of errors and that was before I had even been connected. Routers sent to the wrong address etc etc. UK support is good, worldwide technical support is not so good. They tried so hard to get me to see that my mobile signal area was good but once they realised a mast app (independent of vodafone) showed them wrong, they backtracked.
The Alexa system itself disconnected so many times and a ridiculous reset of app uninstall/reinstall and then a lengthy re-register incl going via Amazon I'm not surprised they have dropped it as they don't have it right for a start.
So rare, nope. The few who complain, yes.

Think yourself lucky you didn't go with Plusnet, or Sky. They are genuine nightmare ISPs. With any ISP things go wrong.

Already been with Plusnet. Never been with Sky though.
Its a shame we have to tolerate so much crap service in the UK whilst the CEO of Vodafone laps its all up

And all the other CEOs too.
I get it. You've had a bad experience, so have I. We're not here to sing praises. Vodafone won't listen to a few discented voices because that's a miniscule problem that they can just ignore. When things do go wrong, affecting thousands or tens of thousands - that's when they'll listen.
Read the small print. Every service provider reserves the right to withdraw a product, or a service, at any time - without notice.

@mister_foo If you think it's bad here, have a peek at the Fitbit forum. The owners, Google, have really upset people.

I had no idea fitbit were part of Google.
I had always been a fan of Google, but what they are doing recently, has really brought them down in my estimation.
They try to monetise everything, and the anti adblock stance they are taking with YouTube is the last straw.
