Can't use split wifi channel 5Ghz - keep getting incorrect password

My router went off line for 4 weeks when I was away and ever since then I cant access the 5Ghz wifi as it keeps saying password not recognised ( I have tried changing the password on  the vodafone broadband app and even using the original but it will not connect ) .

The speed has also dropped to 7-8 and numerous people have tried to improve it .It runs at 8-9 speeds now and I get a discount since its less than 11mbs.
( I did follow some advice on this forum by changing the setup and it got to 11- 13mbs for a few  weeks - not sure if that was coincidence.  My other half keeps wanting to change to gigaclear but I'm not convinced we will get the speeds paid for)  .

I'm tempted to get a new router in case the old one was damaged after the power cut when we were away ,

So any advice from the forumnistas would be gratefully welcomed .

Hi

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

May give a clue to your status.

AND if you buy a better Router make sure it would cover the GigaFast spectrum.

Almost any old second hand router will do as a test piece, you would need to know the username and password for the line.  EG:

If in doubt please ask.

Thanks, not too sure what the results actually mean but I think I get the general gist ( that my speeds have been and will always be slowwww ).

Although it gives a FTTP figure 330  , at the bottom it says FTTP not available - is that just to do with a quote or the fact that its not an option ?

Thanks once again

Hi

FTTP Fibre To The Premises IE: your house not an option then?

I have the SuperFast 2 which uses fibre to the CABINET, and copper to the property.

Whether I am VDSL A or B seems to be about 75/19 sync but I don't see those kinda speeds.

Thanks once again !
I will try that .

Fortunately whatever Vodafone Chat did on Sunday to my band channels and DNS   has has resolved my disconnecting issues ( hoorah ! )  ....even if it has slowed the speed fractionally but more than happy ...... for now ; )

Prego.
